Training Event: Employment law in a day

Our one-day training course will help you get up to speed with the fundamental areas of employment law in the UK.

Delivered by lawyers with practical real-world experience of handling employment law issues, our one-day training course will help you get up to speed with the fundamental areas of employment law that you are likely to come across in your daily work. This won’t be just a legal lecture: we will focus on the practical application of the law, using real-life scenarios, case studies, and group discussion.

For those responsible for people management, it is essential to have an up-to-date grasp of employment law and best practice, both to help reduce business risk and effectively partner with the business.

Course content:

1. Hiring (including employment contracts, statutory obligations and atypical workers)
2. Dealing with Discrimination & Whistleblowing Issues
3. Handling Grievances, Disciplinary and Dismissals
4. Managing Performance and Sickness Absence; and
5. Family Leave & Flexible Working

This training is aimed at:

  • Experienced UK HR executives seeking a refresher on UK employment law.
  • UK HR professionals and in-house lawyers who are newer to UK Employment Law.
  • International in-house lawyers with responsibility for operations in the UK.

Please note that this is a small group training programme and spaces are limited to 12 attendees, on a first come first served basis. Lunch will be provided during the day and the session will be followed by a networking reception.


About the trainer

The training will be delivered by Natasha Adom, Partner & Head of Client Training.

Natasha leads the firm’s client training practice and has extensive experience of developing and delivering employment law programmes on a range of issues including, handling disciplinary and grievance matters, managing discrimination issues and sickness absence.

In addition to having previously worked at international law firm Clyde & Co LLP, Natasha has worked in house at Towers Watson, Mitie and Coca-Cola European Partners.

Natasha is an accredited trainer, certified by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM). She is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association (ELA) and a member of ELA’s Race Equality Committee.
